In the music world, the three brothers of Udaipur mesmerized the audience of entire country by their mind-blowing performances, they were “Nrityacharya” Late Pt. Badri Prasad, “Nritya Samrat” Late Pt. Mathura Prasad, and Late Pt. Jagannath Prasad “Sangeet Murti”.

It was natural for Narendra Kumar to inherit the aptitude of music, being eldest son of Late Pt. Jagannath Prasad “Sangeet Murti”. Narendra initiated learning Harmonium & Violin at his early teens under the able guidance of his father and Guru Late pt. Jagannath Prasad. At the very prime of his youth Narendra started accompanying his father as aViolinist. From the age of fifteen he was introduced to Tabla by his uncle Nrityacharya Lt. Pt. Badri Prasad and then received the systematic training from his father. But destiny had decided something else for him. After meeting with an accident his hand was so injured that he was not able to play Tabla or Violin after that. And from here started his training as a Vocalist under the guidance of his father and pedagogue.

So far it concerns to his ‘Gayki’ it reflects all the wonderful characteristics of ‘Bhendi Bazar Gharana’. Alapchari, Behlawa, Mukhabilas, Laykari, Bal Pench, Khandmer-Ladgunthav and Chapal gati Taans are his specialty. He has given many a fascinating performances and left the music appreciators spell-bound by his various concerts held at Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ahemdabad and Delhi.

AS A MENTOR : He is appreciated not only for his performances but also for his teaching assignments. He has provided his valuable services at Sangeet Natya NIketan, Udaipur since 1991 to 2011 as Music Instructor, currently he is occupying a job in government sector. Many of his benefited students give their excellent performances and win many competitions under his guidance.

AS A COMPOSER : Narendra has composed various ‘Vilambit’ and ‘Drut’ Khayals which reflect his distinctive flair and imagination. Apart from classical he also is possessed of semi classical and light. his beauteous compositions includes Thumari, Dadra, Tarana, Bhajans and Ghazals. He also directed music in various ‘Nritya Natikaas’, out of which Shiv Parvati, Maharaas. Bhakt Prahlad, and Dhruva are Predominant. Narandra kumar’s art reflects the strict classicism of his great teachers and his own creative genius, he has superb control over his instrument as an accompanist on one hand and his unique style in his solo performances on the other. Nature has endowed him rich musical instruments in the manner of virtuoso. Together they have put him in a class by himself, one that can be called “Blessed of the God”.
